Splurged on this to change an older breville that was. Splurged on this to replace an more mature breville that was seeking a bit shabby. The breville toasted a lot more evenly, although. This 1 likes to toast the major and not the base on both sides.

An inferior product from a firm that was once excellent. The old clockwork timer has been replaced with a knob that sounds as if it is winding up the motor - but isn't. The toasting is completely erratic - set it on "3" and it needs another go, set it on "1 1/2" and it burns it to a cinder. The toasting is inconsistent from one side to another - the elements heat at a different rate.
