The product was immediately put to the test. Smoothies in the blender were fab so i moved on to the processor function. Measured out the ingredients and threw into the bowl, clicked the bowl and lid into place and hit the button. Nothing. I knew the unit worked but couldn't get the processor to sping into life. The kenwood customer service line has limited opening hours so i had to wait until the following morning to call. I explained the issue and the kcs rep advised this was common and i should undock the whole unit with the lid still locked in place, reset the unit and 'slam' into the locked position. This is due to the plastic being new and it needs to be 'encouraged' into the locked position. I tried this, although a little worried that it could break, but hey, it worked and i can now process to my heart's content. Perhaps they should add this info to the instruction manual. Overall really pleased with the product, perfect size for a smaller kitchen. Sits neatly on the side, cord is retractable so looks really neat and tidy. Hope this helps your decision making. .

I already own a vitamix machine and am happy with it, expect for the fact that food is difficult to get out from the very bottom. I am sure you all must have the same trouble. When i saw the new vitamix pro 300 in a demonstration with a wider base jug i was excited as i thought i can buy this wider base jug and use it on my existing vitamix.

I know this jug fits my machine as i went to the trouble of taking my heavy machine the next day to the demonstration point and tried it for myself and it worked perfectly. So i could see no reason why vitamix would not sell me one of these wider based jugs. I contacted vitamix by phone and was told i could not buy this new jug unless i splash out another £499 on whole brand new vitamix pro 300 machine and gave them the serial number. I explained that i am a loyal customer and have already spent £450 with vitamix on my existing machine which is totally compatible with this pro 300 jug, i even wrote to vitamix uk twice and they didn't even bother to reply to either letter.So all you existing vitamix machine owners with the narrower base jug.
