I explained the issue and the kcs rep advised this was common and i should undock the whole unit with the lid still locked in place, reset the unit and 'slam' into the locked position. This is due to the plastic being new and it needs to be 'encouraged' into the locked position. I tried this, although a little worried that it could break, but hey, it worked and i can now process to my heart's content. Perhaps they should add this info to the instruction manual.
